Zilfi College of Education Organizes a seminar on Rules of English Language

The English Department at the Zilfi College of Education held on Wednesday 1/5/1437 a seminar entitled "the rules of the English language: Vision and method." Dr. Tahar Bayouli conducted the seminar in the E-learning room for an audience of peer faculty members. These seminars are held to enrich the scientific activities and incite faculty to present new findings in the field of English Studies as well as share information and experience. The department paid exceptional care from the beginning of the academic year to hold a seminar every two weeks which in fact has widely enriched scientific debate between colleagues in the different branches of English Studies. Dr. Bayouli's seminar dealt with two methods in the teaching of grammar. The first one is the classic method where the rules are taught each individually and in a much-focused manner. The second however, teaches grammar contextually without much focus on the rules per se. Still, and according to the speaker there are educationalists who opt to mix the two approaches
