Second Scientific Meeting At The Department Of English Language
The Department of English Language held the second scientific meeting entitled: “concepts of learning and teaching language in second language acquisition”, Dr. Mubarak Muhammad Ali, a faculty member talked about important terms such as language, teaching and learning. Dr. Ali delivered the topic from a philosophical concept, where he spoke about what an English teacher should know in this regard, where he/she should know this complex, variable system which is language. He added that the addressing language in this cultural and interactive context would be reflected on what is going on in the classroom. Consequently, the “learning” term has its complexity as well as the “language” term, and when it comes to learning a second language, the learner comes out with variables from his mother tongue. Also, it is not less complicated with regard to teaching, as this cannot be neglected when it comes to learning. At the end of the meeting a discussion took place among the members, where everybody appreciated the performance of Dr. Mubarak
