Presented by: Dr. Omaima Saied Activity: Academic Achievement Lecture Lecture Objective: 1- Discussing academic achievement, its reasons and good test-taking strategies. Preparation Stages: 1- Determining the topics of the lecture. 2- Defining research tools and resources. Implementation: 1- Introduction of the importance of the topic and its objectives. 2- Presentation of the topic. 3- Discussion and recommendations. Title of the Session: Academic Achievement Aspects of the lecture: 1- Defining high academic performance and explaining its causes and significance. 2- Illustrating successful basic steps of study that lead to high achievement. 3- Developing concentration during study. 4- Explaining exam-taking skills. The lecturer defined high performance, and mentioned its causes and importance in education, the basic skills of effective study i.e. gist reading, memorization techniques and reviews were illustrated. There was a focus on concentration as well as successful test-taking strategies. Problems related to exams such as stress and fear were also addressed. The lecture concluded with recommendations of good study habits that may result in high academic performance. Lecture Organization: the lecture was held at its assigned time frame, and there was a discussion of the topic and recommendations. Tools: Internet Resources and facilities at the Faculty Main building. Lecture Results: 1- Motivation of slow learners to improve their academic performance at the Faculty. 2- Drawing students’ attention to writing in the assigned spaces in the exam booklets. 3- Reading the test questions carefully. The lecturer thanked the attendees for their participation, and urged them to apply the skills discussed in the lecture for achieving a better performance.
