GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) LAB

This lab includes all equipment needed for experiments and researches for both academic staff and students in this aspect which includes researches on satellite imagery analysis and study, displaying satellite images in various separated layers like a layer for streets, a layer for cultivated lands and a layer for geologic formations.

The GIS lab contains a main server where all the computer devices are connected to and take all the data like satellite images and aerial photos from.

Two famous software are installed in the GIS lab, the ERDAS IMAGINE software and the Arc GIS software. The two software play an integrated role in completing the role of each other to achieve all the applications on the satellite images

This lab which is actually a separate unit in the college is considered the core for all the scientific research applied by any member in the college.
